Are you feeling ‘in a pickle1’ with English GCSE? Or does independent English revision seem all a bit too much like ‘a wild goose chase’2?
From support with essay writing, reading analysis and inference with Literature, through to carefully crafting your creative writing, I will work with you to guide you through aspects of your English GCSE that you want to focus on. Together, we can create a bespoke scheme of learning – revisiting areas where you perhaps feel less confident and then building upon areas of strength. We will unscramble the complexities of the subject and its (many) examinations– to ensure you complete your GCSE English examinations assured in the belief that ‘All’s well that Ends well’.3
*All of these quotations are taken from Shakespeare’s plays. Deliberately chosen because Shakespeare is an integral part of GCSE English- his influence on English, along with the universal and enduring themes of his plays are plausibly two of the reasons why this is still the case today.

- Creative writing – developing figurative language techniques, structuring for control and effect and incorporating a wide range of sophisticated vocabulary into your work to unlock those grades
- Knowledge of a range of texts from different time periods – with practice questions to support reading comprehension.
- Timed mock exam practice with detailed feedback/ working together on ‘levelling up’ responses
